The kids have been busy planting seeds, painting pots, and patiently watching the seedlings grow. We’ll have flower, vegetable, and herb starts as well as perennials and house plants!
@shoreviewnatives will be there, selling native plant starts 🦋🐝
@littlechilifarm will have garlic and daffodils bouquets

Possibly other makers/farms as well- stay tuned!

And just like that, bare ground has returned and it feels like the beginnings of spring. So, let’s take a moment to appreciate the last few weeks of snow play that we had! We definitely got a lot of sledding, sliding, and snow sculpting in, but we all want more!

It’s been a weird winter here in Duluth, as evidenced by our lack of snowfall (over 70” had already fallen at this point last year!) and many days above freezing. Here’s to hoping that winter makes a comeback in the coming weeks!

Wow, it’s been a while! Here are some snippets from our summer with the kids as we begin to gear up for the school year with old and new friends!

Summer camps were a blur! Making clay from the Lake Superior shore, recycling paper scraps from the past year into something new, river adventures, and endless play!

We’re so grateful for these long summer days spent outside, hearing laughter and stories filter through the cedar trees, seeing new friendships form and old bonds strengthened. These kids provide us with endless lessons and joy 💙

As we embarked on our hike today, J asked me, “what’s the temperature?”
I said it was around 5 degrees and he replied, “Oh, that’s warm!”
Only up here would you hear that come out of someone’s mouth!

These kids have been building a lot of resilience this week as we have been in playing outside in negative temperatures, but I agree with J, it did feel quite nice outside today, and we were able to play outside for over an hour!
